Bio

No this has nothing to do with biology. If you are like me, the word bio just strikes fear into the heart. No, this is the bio of me, your wonderful host of this site.

It all started on one fateful October night in Phoenix Arizona. I was born, but we really won't go back that far. I grew up in Phoenix my entire life. During my time in elementary and middle school I was always considered the little fat kid that everyone made fun of. However, the next four years would be vastly different for me. Starting in 2001, I went to Pinnacle High School where I spent what I consider to be four of the greatest years of my life. I was still the fat kid, but after a summer of hardcore weight lifting and a starting position on the football team, not many people had much to say to me about my weight. It was my chance to redefine myself to everyone and I took full advantage of it. As well as football, I participated in the choir. It was certainly an odd mix, especially for a football player, but I enjoyed every second of it.

In the fall of 2004, my senior year, shortly after football season ended I attended a meeting at Circuit City regarding Black Friday (the shopping day after thanksgiving for all of you who don't know) The meeting ran long and I had to run back to my house to grab my uniform. Who knew that in that parking lot I would take my last steps. As I was driving home there was a point where I began to hydroplane and I lost control of my car and flipped it into a shallow ditch. This was the beginning of an adventure still in motion for me. My time in the hospital was certainly the hardest time of my life. I don't think that many people would have been able to tell from looking at me though. I remember cracking cripple jokes on my first day in there.I cant say that the jokes kept going for long after the surgeries, but we wont go fully into that. I did my rehab at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, at the Barrow's Rehabilitation Unit. A hard but honestly overall enjoyable experience. I met a ton of new people in there. Some who have made it back into every day life and sadly a few who did not make it, either by death, or merely just giving up on life. Thank goodness I was not one of those people. I made it out on March 1st 2005 and a week later I was back at Pinnacle. A few months later I graduated and went to PVCC and eventually to ASU. I'm currently working on getting my degree in Education and with all luck being able to go back and teach at my old stomping grounds of Pinnacle High School.

The wheelchair was obviously a big turning point in my life, but two years later, another discovery would lead to some amazing times, and inspiration. The day I discovered talk radio. 101.5 FREEFM. Naturally I got very into it to the point where I wanted to meet the guys who did the evening show Big O and Dukes. I have trouble admitting it, but I spent an entire weekend downloading the entire 7th season of Gilmore Girls for Chad Dukes, so that I would have an excuse to come down and meet them. If only I knew that I could grab a case of Coke Zero and get the same effect I probably would have done that. I got to know the guys pretty well and after about 6 months CBS radio decided we needed another rap format here in the valley so no more talk here for me. I still listen to the guys in DC on www.wjfk.com. This is partially the inspiration for this site and possibly a career in radio. Who knows? If I can make it happen then Damn right!

That brings us to now. I'm 21, attending ASU. I love football so much that I coach it at Pinnacle at the freshman level. I play Sled Hockey for the Phoenix Coyotes. Im a huge ass nerd for Star Wars and video games. My gamertag on Xbox Live is Diaz 72. Hit me up.

Thanks for taking the time to check out this site and reading this bio.
